PREPARATIONS FOR ARMISTICE DAY LAST YEAR’S RECORD OP £520,000 EXPECTED TO RE BROKEN '.British Official Wirelesß., RUGBY. Oct. 31. It is.anticipated that the immense sum of £520,000 liich was raised by street sales of ■ artificial poppies on Armistice Day last year, will bo exceeded by . this year’s collections for wounded cx-servico .men funds. Poppy Day will bo celebrated on Saturday, November 10, but the churches during the Armistice services on the following day will bo decorated with sprays of poppies. Some. 32,000,000 poppies made by wounded soldiers and sailors. .of whom .3-10 arc regularly employed in their manufacture at Richmond and Edinburgh, are being distributed for sale throughout Britain, and at 280 centres overseas. The Dominions bare their own ex-service associa-tions-for the care of the wounded, hut outside tho Dominions every' British community in the Empire has ordered poppies from London head- ■
