“K.S.” AND THE BOYS.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—The. elections have come around again and wc are getting neaps of polities and promises, but neither cut much ice with the bovs. To them actions speak .louder than words. The boys on the Coast will never forget the man who carried them on his back when they were down and out. They will not forget the man who turned his house into a hospital, to nurse them, and killed off his prise fowls for broth when the common ones wore finished. f will never forget how he treater; n soldier who returned from the war badly gassed. With many others he was given a iob by “K.S.” It was docking time and the soldier's job iv as to catch the Jambs. After a time “ICS.” happened along and asked the Digger how he was feeling. The. latter had to admit that he wasn’t feeling too good. Pulling n cigarette case out of his pocket he handed it oyer to the digger and told him to have, a spell for a while under the willow tree, but so that the extra work would not fall on other shoulders “K.S.” borrowed the man’s dungarees and went on catching the lambs himself. I can swear to" the facts, for that soldier was myself. That man will do us. and we don’t care what his polities are —I am vours, etc., DIGGER.
