Four Norwegian whalers returned from West Australian grounds. Captain Olsen, who has had long experience in the Antarctic, said ho had never done so well. Twenty whales were sometimes caught in one day. They were smaller, but fatter, than the Antarctic whales, and produced 36,000 barrels of oil of n value of £IBO,OOO, Owing to the hazardous landing at Point Cloates, tho sailors had not left the ships for three months. After a cruise in the South Atlantic, Captain Olsen will return in Mav to Australia.
