NEW COMMITTEE FORMED
A meeting!was held in St. John’s Mangapapa on Monday to form a new committee for the Girl Guide movement in Mangapapa. Mrs Jamieson, District Commissioner, presided. Officers were elected as follow:' Chairwoman, Mrs C. Ferris; vicechairwoman, ill’s .Trafford; lion, secretary ancf treasurer, Mrs E. Trowel! pro tern.; committee, Mesdames Cowan, (Dr.) Hall, Hutchinson and Matron Benjamin. Mrs A. Andrew, of Mangapapa, was appointed captain of the troop and will undertake her duties iu the new year. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the Commissioner.
The committee decided to hold meetings on the first Monday in each month at 2.30 in St. John’s. The question of holding a function for the purpose 'of raising funds for the committee was discussed and it was decided to hold a “bring and buy'’ afternoon an Thursday, November 15.
