The Elinor Bolling passed Disappointment Island, a coral island of -the --Tuomatu .-■• Archipelago; < • at.--.-J3 o’clock this morning, 19 days out from Balboa, It was the first land sighted on the 400 miles voyage. Tne Bolling is due at Papeete on Tuesday night, and after coaling and taking water, the ship will proceed to W ellington. The ship passed five miles south of Disappointment Island, hut the crew was unable to seo any signs of life. The island is inhabited by _ 200 natives, mostly primitive tribes. Apart from the ship’s routine, there was little activity _ aboard. To-day Captain Brown decided that there should not he unnecessary work on Sundays.
