Branson’s form, at the Auckland spring meeting early in thd present month indicated that he, was, right bade to his best again, and if started in the Dargaville Cup ho can be. depended on to giye a good account of himself. ,
. Pegaway- won tho sprint at Te R’apa in good style. His rider adopted- waiting tactics and then came along in the straight to take it off Kingfield,, and was splendidly suited, by /the Tain and the ' heavy track, conditions that were also appreciated by .the winner. Had the riders been reversed Kingfield might have succeeded i’n converting a neck defeat into victory.
