ATHLETICS
The Gisborne. Amateur .. Athletic Club will open its ,1928-29 season at the Childers Road Reserve, on Thursday next at 5.15 p.m. Tlie track is said to be in good condition, arm a 3 many of the prominent athletes have been in training for some weeks, good contests should be witnessed. The nrogramme comprises ten races, Hat and cycle, and with good weather the opening for the season should be a very auspicious one.
