The Daily Mail says silent film instruction threatens the, position of the sergeant-major as the terror of recrui/s. A London territorial regiment is testing a scheme of showing recruits their drill movements upon the screen before they are placed in the awkward squad, believing that the more intelligent men will learn more quickly than by a sergeanfmajor’s sarcasms.
