GALE IN EUROPE.
EXCITING RESCUE IN ENGLISH CHANNEL. BRITISH SEASIDE RESORTS , DAAIAGED. SEVERE FLOODS IN WALES. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Oct. 28. A great gale swept Southern England last night, and heavy seas ran in the Channel. The Dungeness lifeboat rescued tho crew of the motor schooner Honna, bound from Antwerp to Poole. Tho lifeboat, on returning, safely beached after some hours of fruitless efforts to reach her station. Considerable damage was done by the storm at seaside resorts. Tho winds were accompanied by heavy rams in some parts of the country. Severe floods are reported in the Rhondda Valley of Wales, a slip occurring near Port Talbot. A railway embankment gave way in Monmouthshire and blocked the line, but an accident was averted by a warning given by two schoolboys.
