The Times Milan correspondent states that the first case of Fascist land expropriation occurred on October 14 at Rovigo, where Mussolini dispossessed Signor Peretti because lie had not paid sufficient attention to the management of his 125,000 acres estate. The prefect of Rovigo issued a decree, handing over the management to a local Fascist syndicate. “Fascism cannot passively witness the impoverishment of an estate capable of big profit,” lie said.
