SYDNEY, Oet.- 25. . Colonel L. Gisborne, a. retired English army officer land. prominent clubman, was found with his -neck broken in the early morning on. the lawn' of the Union Club’s 'Sydney.
He died in the arms of a steward, who states that'Colonel Gisborne fell from an upper storey window. The deceased came of a prominent family. ' -• The police learned that deceased, who was a recent visitor from England, was Lieutenant-Colonel £ Gisb«ne, C.M.G., late of ■ the .Royal Field Artillery territorial. forces.He was a son of the Hon. William Gisborne, of New Zealand. Deceased served in the South African and European wars, and had booked- -to return to England by the Orvieto, leaving on Saturday next. . ■ •; A steward of the Union Club states that Colonel Gisborne’s last Word 3 were: “It’s all right,' lad, I’m gone. God only kno.ws what was wrong with me.” Shortly afterwards he died.
