“WOMAN!”

“MAN’S ANTHEM” MORE DEWAR EPIGRAMS Onited Press Assn, by El. Tel. Copyright (United Service.) LONDON, Oct. 23. Lord Dewar, who is famous for afternieal epigrams, has coined a new collection on “man’s anthemwoman.” Toasting the ladies at the Poultry Club’s banquet, h© said : “The world heeds more permanent wives and less permanent waves. “It is woman’s duty to provide for the inner man; man’s duty to provide for the outer woman. “A man should be judged by his wife’s clothes; which cost more, than they did in the garden of Eden, but aren’t they worth it? “Brevity is the soul of this frock business. “Women display more backbone than men. When a mari bares his shoulders he catches cold; when a girl bares her shoulders she catches a husband. “SomeV mother’s lives are one darned stocking after another.”
