MAIITON, Oct. 22. Geoffrey Norman Butcher, a motor mechanic, of Wellington, was lined £lO and his current license cancelled for being intoxicated wliile in charge of a motor car, and £5 for failing to have a silencer'on the machine’s exhaust. Yesterday, residents of Marton district were seriously disturbed by the roar of Butcher’s machine on the highway. "Witnesses testified that they thought an aeroplane was in the vicinity.
