The deluge of medical advice as to what to do, and what not ta do to remain alive, received a severe rebuff from the treasurer of the British Medical Association. This was, in effect, that one could eat, drink, and wear what one liked within reason, so long as we found we could go on liking it. A Harley Street specialist, amplifying this, said he would not dream of following the broadcast adviee cf scores of medical men. The profession was not led by them, but laughed at them.
