PAHIATUA, Oct. 18
Rather pessimistic comment on the recent Rugby season was made at the Rugby Union mooting.
In referring to the loss on the year’s operations the secretary said the football this year had been awful, the worst be had seen here for the last five years. “Dynamite!” remarked the chairmam.
The secretary said that unless the standard were good, the public would not attend. Jt was generally conceded that play had been very low everywhere, with the exception of Wairarapa. . It was thought that a proposal for the introduction of the Saturday half-holiday would be welcomed by most people and would be or b g boon to local football.
