• I Special to the Times.) OFOTJKI, August 14. A large attendance of enthusiasts at MaraenUi witnessed a thrilling hockey contest between two ladies' terms on Saturday. AVuiraka (Whakataue) meeting Apanui, an interesting game resulting in favor of Wairaka by two goals to nil. The winners gave a good display . all round, their combination, especially •••‘Wig the forwards, being a feature of tho game. Miss M. Black, of Opotiki, was included in the Apanui ter-m, and was tho most brilliant player on the field. I'or Wairaka, Miss M. B nett was the star player.
