CYCLISTS CRASH.

AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONS . HURT GROSE SERIOUSLY INJURED (Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 14. The champion Australian cyclists, Standen and Gray, had the misfortune to meet with an accident at their first practice on the English Park track. The two visitors were riding with the local riders, F. Grose and W. Mackie. Standen was in the lead setting a fast pace, Mackie second, Grose third and Gray fourth. The pedal of Stanclen’s machine struck the asphalt and he fell, being badly skinned on the legs. Mackie fell over Standen, hut escaped with light scratches. Grose, in avoiding the fallen men, rode into the fence, and was injured so badly that he went to the hospital. His condition is reported as serious. Gray fell but was not badly hurt. Gray and Standen >may be able to ride at the sports to-morrow.
