YEAR’S RAINFALL
BELOW AVERAGE IN GISBORNE
The rainfall in Gisborne in 1927 i> below the average recorded over a number of yeais, 42.23 inches having been registered compared with an average of 45.7 incites over the last half century, although only' 34.59 inches fell in 1926. In June last year the heaviest fall in any one month was recorded, 10.36 inches being recorded. 11l September 5.31 inclieiloll and in live other months the tab exceeded 3 inches. This year i pence! with heavy rain on Tuesday, the fall for the 24 hours ending at 9 a in. yesterday bein': 1.09 inches, oi twice as much as the fall for the whole month of Januarv. 1927.
