CLAIM BY PIT OWNER SUCCEEDS
LONDON, May 7. Damages of £looo' and costs were awarded Sir Samuel Instone, the Cardiff colliery owner, against , Herbert Smith, the miners’ president, for slander. Smith, addressing a meeting, said: “If I "'ant can soon get it with the Welsh swindler I mean the owner of the pit Sir Samuel Instone. —A. and N.Z.O.A.
