Lord Alleuby unveiled a war memorial in the chapel of the Mount ot Olives, designed by Sir R. Burnet. Flanking the curved walls on wlncli the names of tho Empire’s mission are inscribed, are pylons bearing the Australian and New Zealand coats of arms. Inside the- chapel is a Mosaic gilt from New Zealand, contaming six figures symbolical of voctory, peace, patriotism, faith, humanity and hope. Unveiling this, Sir James Pan said it WUS the good fortune of the New Zealanders to serve under both Boiu Plumer and Lord Allenby, whose names were household words in the Dominion, which sent 100,000 troops, of whom none were more efficient than the mounted men, who were fully entitled to their country s magnificent memorial mosaic.
