STEAMER HELD UP
MEN DEMAND MORE TRIMMERS. EFFORTS TO GET CREW UNAVAILING. CHBISTOHIfItCH, Jan. 25. The Union Company’s steamer Waikouaiti lias been held up since Wednesday awaiting a crew. The company’s call met with no response, the men demanding that three extra trimmers should be signed on. • This the company declined. A further effort to secure a crew to-day was unsuccessful.
