“GOLD HEELS'” AND THE ASQUITHS.

To-night, the Asquiths make their final appearance in a complete change of programme, Mr. Asquith giving imitations of. various musical instruments. “‘Gold Heels,” the great racing melodrama, will be presented for the first time. It is an adaptation of the famous' stage play, “Checkers.” Bobby Agnew, as “Checkers” Garnished, the jockey, has a role which suits him admirably. It is the story of a jockey who is ruled off the turf because he would not ride a crooked race. He finds his way to a small town, gets a position in a grocery store, and falls in love with Bert Barlow (Peggy Shaw); Her father runs the store and owns a' horse which he calls Remorse. “Checkers” sees in this hig.li-spiritcd animal great possibilities and buys it for. 30 dollars. Kendall, son of a rich man, also loves Pert and is also a horseman, but, a shady one. “Checkers” trains his horse but has lots’of trouble with Kendall trying to keen him off the course. However, with the aid of Pert they get Remorse on the track in time to start. The race scenes which follow are . flawless. There is also an excellent supporting programme and musical items by theorchestra. , *
