GOLF ETIQUETTE.
The Brsbnne Golf Club bare en--1 deavqu red, to:.malee the game better by the introduction of'their own particular definitions of' Golf Eti-quette—-and in a printed slip the secretary says. For Your Own Comfort and that or Your Fellow Members— If you prefer ,tn p’nv slowlv let faster players go through,,but in .any
case play and walk as quickly as you can consistently' with comfort, and remember that one slow pair causes congestion for all those who are following them. No player has the right to spoil the round for everyone behind him. Replace all divots. If this is impossible, stamp down the hole. Get off the putting-green directly you have ho’od cut. You must go through a match that has lost its place on the green (viz., has a clear hole in front of it). When a match has played a ball to go through a match searching for a lost ball, remember the latter match has lost its place, and even though the ball bo meantime found, should not—(1) Play on until the oncoming match has p’ayed through them; nor (2) Cut in by proceeding to the next tee. Three. and four hall matches must allow two ball matches to go through, except on Sunday afternoon. Even then they should permit this and, in fact, invite two ball matches to go through if the latter are in any way being delayed. Do not walk up tbe face of a bunker and. always leave tire bunker by tbe way you entered it, and smooth out your footmarks. NeVcr permit a caddy to enter, or yourself, take your bag' of clubs into a bunker. If members will observe these few simple rules, it would do away with many complaints on these points, which the committee much too often receive ; and also he conducive to the greater comfort of members generally.
