MASTERTON V. GISBORNE. Play in the telegraphic match between the Masterton and Gisborne Chess Clubs was concluded shortly bebore midnight on Saturday. Some delay occurred through the' wires fusing, and after several interruptions, an attempt was made at 10 o”clock to finish the games and draws were accepted in four others, leaving three games to be adjudicated. These arc all somewhat in favor of the Gisborne players, and draws would be accepted by the Masterton club, who lead at present by.six point to four, but the final score awaits the derision of the adjudicator, Air.
