WIRELESS WONDERS

MARCONI ON LATEST RESULTS.

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION COPYRIGHT} (A. AND N.Z, GABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received August 1, 3.30 p..m.) LONDON, July 31.

Marconi, at the annual meeting of Marconi Limited, announced that most considerable progress had been made with the beam system. Whereas, formerly, he' believed the short waves of that system would be most efficient during the hours of darkness and semi-darkness, tests made under his direction had proved conclusively’ that still shorter waves were more effective for world-wide communication by day than by night. ■ Thus, recently, he had communicated with Australia and' Canada for ninety-six hours continuously.
