POVERTY BAY ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Poverty* Bay Hockev Association as held last evening. Mr. Sim presiding over a. fair attendance of delegates. Correspondence was received from the Southland Hockey Association
stating that they had applied for tho New Zealand ladies’ championship to be played at Invercargill, and asking for Poverty Bay’s support. The secretary was instructed to writ-o and inform them that- Poverty Bay wero unnb’e to accede to the request owing to the fact that they had also applied for tho tournament. The Poverty Bay Football Association wrote notifying the acceptance of the division of live gate receipts, etc, on tho terms arranged. Mr. Lnnghorne notified his acceptance as coach for the season, and arrangements were completed ‘ for the first blackboard lecture to take place on Wednesday evening next. June 17, at the Y.M.C.A. rooms at 7.30 p.m. It was also decided that tlie official practices should start on Monday morning. June 22. Other mornings on
which pract’ces are to he held will he decided at the lecture, so as to g : ve the players a cliance to decide which will suit them best. Regarding the selection of men rep. players for the New Zealand team to play against Australia on August 8 at Wellington, the selectors notified that they intend to see two or three players regarding their ability to go to Wellington on that date prior to forwarding their names for selection to the New Zealand selectors,
