FRANCHISE IN ENGLAND

(Received June 4, 11 p.m.) * LONDON, Alay 3. After a lively discussion, the standing committee of the House of Commons decided, by 38 to 11 votes, that women should be enfranchised at the ago of twenty-one. The committee is now discussing the Representation of the People Amendment' Bill, promoted by the Laborite William Adamson. Mr Arthur Henderson told the committee that the Government wanted to give the vote at twentyone. He undertook to have the Bill carefully examined, with a view to remedying any defects.—Reuter.
