EXPERTS IN CONGRESS AT WEAIBLEY.
LONDON, June 3. * Lord Long opened tho Aletallurgical Congress at AVembley, the object of which is to discuss scientific, technical, and economic problems connected with the development of mineral resources of the Empire, and forming an Empire Council of mining and metallurgical institutions. Referring to oil, ho_ said there was a very great potential source of oil in the" Empire, in largo shale deposits, and in torbanite similar to shale,- but containing a much, larger portion of high grade oil. The Empire’s mineral resources in oil and other products were enormous. She had the mines and men.—Reuter.
