Charles Wray, a cowman, of Blackmore, Essex, was sentenced to 14 days’ hard at Ongar . recently* for what was described as gross cruelty While clearing out the sheds, it was stated ho struck the animal a violent blow on the leg with a shovel, severing the tondons. The cow fell to the ground and had to be slaughtered. Wray said that the cow kicked him and he struck it in a fit of temper. He was sorry, now The Chairman: You will have to he taught not to inflict cruelty on dumb animals, in a temper or otherwise.
