BRITAIN TO AUSTRALIA
(Received May 7, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, May,- 7. The Daily Chronicio spates that- lollowmg upon'the settlement or the
airways strike the new company is organising extensions of the aii-lines vnicii will link by link and will result in all All Red maii-piaues, guodsplanes and serial wagoiuets travelling regularly between London and Australia. Giant planes are being built of metal throughout, with all the latest weight-saving devices. Meanwhile an expert survey of the airway to Sydney is being made. It will be composed of eleven stations—Malta, Cairo, Baghdad, Karachi, Calcutta, Rangoon, Singapore, North Borneo, New Guinea, Fort Darwin, Sydney. -It is estimated that at express service the thirteen thousand miies will occupy 18i hours. The planes will refuel in mid-air by means of winged tankers rising from stations. —A. and N.Z.C.A.
