At the first day of the horse fair conducted by the Poverty Bay Stockbrokers’ Assn, at Alatawhero yesterday there was a good attendance, but taken generally the unbroken horses submitted were in short supply. Two outside buyers were present. The demand was good, particularly for half-draughts, and heavr draughts. Three-year-old heavy unbroken draughts ranged from £32 to .£l2; medium draughts, £lB to £3O; useful farm horses, £L2 to £18; light harness horses and hacks. £U to 612. In ponies light hacks ranged from £2 to £G. ’The fair will be concluded to-day when broken-in sorts will be submitted.
