BOY SCOOTS 5 CAMP.
HARD WORK AND PLAY AT LONGBUSH.
The Boy Scout camp on Mr Tlios. Holden's property at Longbush is proceeding very satisfactorily. Monday was taken up with pitching tents. All the tents and gear were in order by 3 p.m., and a swim was much appreciated at the conclusion of the -work. On Tuesday morning the lads were employed in making the poles ready for bridge-building instruction and in tidying the camp ground. ,111 the afternoon an extensive game of flag raiding was carried out, g large stretch of country being covered. On Wednesday morning bridge-building instruction was continued, a suspension bridge of ropes and poles beings made, Which safely carried the weight of a dozen boys. An exciting treasure hunt occupied the greater part of the afternoon, the treasure consisting of a bag of sweets. Some fine scouting was shown during the dispatch run which was carried out after tea, the boys thoroughly enjoying themselves. The camp routine is as follows: G a.m., turn out, air bedding, coffee and biscuit; 6.30 to 7 a.m., parade for prayers, physical exercise or instruction parade, salute flag; 7 to 7.15 a.m.,. wash (swim); 7.30 a.m., breakfast; 8.30 a.m., tent inspection; 8-45 to 11 a.m., scouting practices; 11 to 11.45 a.m., swim; 12 noon, dinner, after dinner complete- rest and no noise until 2 p.m.; 2 to 4.30 p.m., scouting practices; 4.30 p.m. to 5 p.m.:, swim; 5-15 p.m., parade, salute flag; 5.30 p.m., tea; 6.30 to 7.30 p.m., games or-seputing practices ; 7.30 to 8.30 p.m., camp fire; 9 p.m., lights out. No scout is allowed outside the camp boundaries without leave. '■
