IMPRESSIVE SCENES AT FUNERAL.
THOUSANDS PASS BODY LYING
IN STATE

The route of Mr Storey’s funeral from the Cathedral to the railway station, for several hours before the cortege moved, was lined with dense crowds. After an impressive service at the Cathedral conducted by the Dean and the Primate of Sydney the procession, which was headed by the Fire Brigade Band and three thousand marching Unionists. left for the Field of Mars cemetery. At the railway station- special trains were waiting for those marching. The Cathedral, when the body by in state, was visited by many thousands. It was one of the largest and most representative funerals held in the State, four motor cars being neeessarv for floral tributes.
Members of the Federal Labor party were absent, the secretary telegraphing that they were unable to attend owng to a critical position in the House of Representatives.— U.P.A.
