CRICKET.
I THE ADAIR CUP. MEETING OE TRADES TEAMS. In connection with the institution of a cricket competition this season between local trades, professions, and wholesale teams, a meeting of those interested was held last night in Mr L. Ogier’s shop. Mr A. N. Stubbings presided. Mr P. Chari wood was elected lion, sec., and the scheme of competition for the Adair Cup was decided upon. It was decided to have, two delegates from each club on the executive the personnel of which is as follows:—Drapers and mercers, Messrs Barningham and Vaughan; bakers and pastrycooks, Messrs Mills and A. D. Kohleis; cycle and motor merchants, Messrs Holmes and Allan Sutton; hairdressers, A. N. Stubbings, L. Maddison; jewellers, Mauttan and Charlwood. Among the rules governing the competition drawn up are (1) Challengers must lie members of their own trade; (2) matches are to be played on Thursdays aud holidays only. The following teams have sent in challenges: Drapers and mercers; jewellers and chemists; licensed victuallers. haidressers and tobacconists; bakers and pastrycooks.
