SENSATION IN COMMONS.
MEMBER EXPIRES SUDDENLY. HEART MASSAGE FAILS. (Received Aug. 9, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 8. Mr Wintringham (member for Louth) died suddenly while sitting in the Commons reading room. The House immediately* adjourned. Mr Wintringham complained that he felt unwell when he arrived at the House but attended a meeting and put a couple of questions in the Chamber. At eight o’clock he ordered a meal, which he _ awaited when he collapsed. Medical commoners tried heart massage unavailingly. Deceased was a timber merchant and agriculturist.--A. and N.Z.C.A.
