BARNAPDO’S HOMES APPEAL
Dr. Barnardo’s Homes are making their annual appeal for half-crowns for the Founder’s Day Food Bill Fund in connection with their anniversary, which will be celebrated on Saturday, June 25, at the Model Village for Girls, Barking-side, Essex. The Barnardo family is the largest in the world, 7,200 children (of whom 1,091 are babies), and never was the food bill so enormous as now. All these healthy, glowing children need food ta turn them into Al. citizens. In 1920, 332,455 half-crowns were collected, a.nd as the needs are much greater this year the Homes hope that the public will bo more generous than ever before. They are asking for a modest half-crown, but they want a very large number. Cheques and orders may be made payable to “Dr. Barnardo’s Founder’s Day Fund” and crossed, and sent, to the Director, Rear-Admiral Sir Harry Stileman, 18-26, Stepney Causeway, London, E.l.
