“YOU DIRTY ROTTER!”
AN EXTRAORDINARY SCENE
FATHER JERGER SYMPATHISERS IN FEDERAL HOUSE.
AIR. HUGHES ASSAILED BY WOMEN.

MELBOURNE. July 14. An extraordinary scene occurred in the House of Representatives after Air. Hughes refused to discuss the Father .Jerger case. Air. Tudor attempted to move a censure motion hut before he commenced a woman in the gallerv shout* ed loudly at Air. Hughes regarding the treatment of Father Jerger and then threw into the Chamber a bundle of literature on the subject. This was a signal for concerted action on the part of other women in the gallery who screamed: “Why don’t you give him a fair trial, you dirty rotter!” and showered a printed statement upon the heads of those below:
