THE WEATHER.
Mr. Pemberton’s forecast is as follows: Present indications are for strong but decreasing southerly winds veering to westerlies shortly in and southward of Cook Strait. Weather cold and changeable with scattered showers in the northern and East Coast districts, but a temporary improvement may be expected soon. The barometer is rising but should fall in the south after about twentyfour hours.
