THE RIVERSIDE REGATTA
SWIMMING ARRANGEMENTS
A well-attended meeting of the Gisborne Surf and Swimming Club was held in the South British Insurance buildings last evening, to discuss matters in connection with Thursday’s carnival.
Pinal arrangements for the swimming events were gone into, and very satisfactory results were reported. It was stated that very good entries have been received for the men’s and boys’ events, but the entries for the ladies’ section of the programme were disappointing, and it was decided to make these events post entries. It was stated that the Tuatea waiting room on the wharf will be utilised as a men’s dressing shed, *nd a tent will be erected on the lawn near the rotunda for the ladies. During the meeting the question ot membership was broached, and it was decided to arrange with the Waikanae Beach Improvement Socity to canvass for members during the carnival. i A donation was received with thames from Sir James Carroll The colors of the club have been decided on as yellow and black The following new members were elected: H. Hutchinson, J. Chnsp, H. Thrid, A. Beer.
ROWING CREWS SELECTED
In connection with the forthcoming regatta to be held on the Turanganui River on Thursday next m aid of the Waikanae Beach Improvement Society, the following crews have been selected to represent the Gisborne Rowing shed : Veterans: Messrs G. Clare Ten Stone: Messrs A. Scents, E. ktev enson, L. Bright, and H. Fraser. Youths: Messrs W. Langlands, PWinter, H. Miller, and T. Williams. Ladies: Messrs K. Slmgsby. J. Britain, R. Eyson, E. Maxwell, and J.
