VAUDEVILLE AND PICTURES. To-night, at the Opera House, the double programme of vaudeville and pictures, which had suclt a successful opening last week will be continued under Mr Kennedy Black’s direction. Mr Black has laid a greatamount of practical professional experience in theatrical circles, and has been the producer of many successful costume comedy companies. ,; The Dandies/' at present playing at the Town Hall, Wellington, include in their repertoire several of Mr Black’s original compositions, “The Picnic,'’ “Ragtime Sketch,” “Opening Chorus,” etc. It is his intention to introduce budding local talent every Saturday night, and already some of the amateurs have reached a professional standard. To-night Doris McKenzie and Bessie Duncan, a clever pair of dancers and singers, will he heard in a Dutch characterisation “Tulip Time in Holland.” Fred Ardern will he heard in a novel speciality, while Doris Hughes will play violin solos and further prove her versatility by singing and playing her own obligato. The star picture will he a Gloria photo-play, featuring Elsie Reed and Robert Oliver in “.Stolen Inheritance,” which has a most interesting plot.” A young and beautiful girl loses her memory, and is robbed of her just inheritance by a scheming adventuress, but when the girl eventually recovers a highly dramatic and sensational climax i.s reached. The picture is well dressed and mounted, while-t Tie supports in-clude-a Triangle comedy, an interesting scenic of nautical life, and a Topical Gazette.
