QUARTERLY MEETING
The quarterly meeting of the Gisborne Methodist Circuit was held on Tuesday night. In the absence of the Superintendent (Rev. W. H. E. Abbey) the Rev M. A. Rugby Pratt, or Hastings, presided. The balance-sheet was considered satisfactory considering the special circumstances of the circulit during the quarter. _ . . The membership returns were similar to last quarter. It was resolved too alter the time of the Te Ha para service from the afternoon to 7 p.m., and Mangapapa to the morning at 11 a.m. Messrs L. A. White and V. Ivmbbs were elected representatives to the Synod, and Messrs G. S. Vincent and Henson were elected substitute representatives. . .. . ~ A cordial and unanimous invitation was extended to the Rev. W. 11. EAbbey as Superintendent Minister for a second year. The chairman referred to th e state of Mr Abbey s health, and said that while it ua. still improving, some time would elapse before Mr Abbey would be well enough to resume, work.
