MONTHLY MEETING. • A ‘meeting of the Citizens’ Defenco Committee was held at the Borough Council Chambers yesterday afternoon ; nresent: Mr G. Stock (m the chair),* Colonel Fletcher Captain Pitt, and Messrs H. Miller, H. A. White. G. O. Munns-. F. C. Gaddum, C. A. Fenwick. AY. J- Sinclair, G. AVildish, A. H. Lange, R. M_ Burell, Q B Oman, H. deCosta, H. Kenway, AV Her, and J. AV. Bright. The financial statement showed the following receipts for the fortnight ending October 14.—Mis EKenwav (Red Cross Fund) £2 ; Mrs N L Brown (General Fund) £1 lbs, Refund Allowance £4; Ohas. Mayson (General Fund) £2; H. Kemiay (Wounded Soldiers Fund) £2, Defence warrant refund £I L W-LL F F M Burgess (Wounded Soldiers and Sailors’ Fund), £2; nett proceeds picture night £7 7b.
