MOTOR CAR OVERTURNS.

SEQUEL TO A DANCE. NINE PERSONS INJURED. Press Association Telegram. HAWERA, October 12. A serious accident occurred near the Normanby dairy factory early this morning. J. Russell, a taxi proprietor, wasi motoring a party of nine from Eltham to Hawera after a dance, when one back tyre blew out, followed by a succession of blow-outs, causing the car to over-balance. It overturned and completing a somersault" righted itself. Fortunately the occupants were thrown clear, but all were somewhat injured. Those brought to the Hawera hospital were Misses Ada Dunn (right collarbone broken), Marion Dunn (both collarbones broken), Miss Turner (right foot injured), J. Russell, driver of the car (injuries to face, but he was able to be removed home after receiving attention), and 'Whittaker (mostly head bruises). All the patients are doing as well as could be expected. Others taken to Mrs Walsh’s hotel, Normanby, are: Mbs Madge Dunn (unconscious), Miss Walsh, Miss O’Connor and Miss Tong (all three suffering from shock and bruises). Arrangements were being made to bring Miss Dunn to hospital, but she was still unconscious this morning. The car was. considerably damaged. The hood was down and this saved more serious results.
