DEATH OF WELL-KNOWN HAWERA RESIDENT.

Press Association Telegram. HAWERA, Sept. 3. The rleath occurred this morning ot Mr A. S. Tonks, a well-known resident. Deceased had been in poor health for several months. With Mr R. H. Nolan he developed an auctioneering business which a few years ago was sold to the Loan and Mercantile Companv. Deceased was a successful sheep 'breeder and exhibitor at A. and P. shows. He was also well known in racing, cricket, polo, g°'*> and bowling circles. Mr lonks is survived by a widow and sons. The funeral is to take place in Auckland.
