HIS LIFE FOR A CHILD’S. Australian and N-Z. Cable association (Received June 19. 11.10 p.m.) LONDON. June 19. An inquest at Southampton revealed that Lance-Corporal Ernest Poole, a Sydneyite, dived from a breakwater in France in t order to save a child. He was too modest to mention the case when taken to hospital suffering from a dislocation of the spine and bronchitis as a result of the dive. The jury expressed admiration for Poole’s gallantry.
