ALLEGED HOUSE OF ILLFAME.
PROSECUTIONS' IN WELLINGTON

WELLINGTON, May 6. The hearing of cases arising out of a raid on an alleged house of illfame at Kelburn was commenced at the Magistrate’s Court to-day, when five women were charged, one with keeping the house and the others with assisting in its management. Inspector Marsaek said that as complaints"had been made regarding the house, it had been kept under observation. Actual acts of immorality had been seen, and a large number of men—principally soldiers and officers off ships in the .harbor-—were seen frequenting the house. After the evidence of a number of witnesses had been taken, the case was adjourned till to-morrow.
