TURKS IN FULL RETREAT
GREAT ARTILLERY RECORD. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association LONDON. March 4. Mr. Massey., writing from Palestine headquarters on the 20th February, after detailing the . difficulties of the advance, says:— The Turks are in full retreat, the Valley of the Jordan is patrolled by us. What is probably an artillery record was established in the Jeri.clio operations. The guns began firing at an altitude of 2920 feet over the sea. When finished) the guns were in action in the Jordan Valley 1100 feet below the sea level.
A GOOD ADVANCE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association and Keuter's. (Received March 5, 9 p.m.) LONDON, March 4. A Palestine official report says:— We advanced northwards to a maximum depth of 3000 yards on a frontage of 12 miles astride and) westwards of the Jerusalom-Rabluh road. We met with little opposition.
