ROWING.
POVERTY BAY CLUB
A committee meeting of the Poverty Bay Bowing Club was held in the Club-house last night. Mr A. Drummond, captain, presided, and there were also present. Messrs. B. ,Sticliburv J. Mellor, H. .Swan, J. Johnson"’J'- Rackice, E. Mellor' J. Owen, and W. Griffen. The resignation of Mr. Roy Eaton as secretary was received with regret, and Mr B. Sticlibury was elected to the position with Mr D. Nicholson as assistant. , . „ The following crews were picked ror the Masonic fours: —E. Mellor (str.) ; J. Owen (3), J. Whitfield (2), J. Bishop (bow);' J. Mellor (str.), A Pitcher (3), H. Swan (2), R. Eaton (bow); A Drummond (str.), L. Martin (3), L. O’Neill (2), J. Riley .(bow); W. Griffen (str.), Fitzmaunee .(3), J. Rackice (2), L. Markie (bow). These races will be rowed over the Laiuhe River over the one and a halt muo course in about two weeks’ time.
