ZEPPELIN ACTIVITY.
6 THE ENGLISH RAID. FURTHER HEARTRENDING STORIES. EVIDENCE AT THE. INQUESTS. (Received Feb. 4, 9.50 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 4. _ Further details of the Zeppelin raid were forthcoming at the inquests on the dead. These included the family; of a soldier who returned on furlough, to find his home wrecked arid his wife and boy and girl dead. Verdicts were returned of wilful murder against the Kaiser and Crown Prince.
The first intimation of the raid in one of the towns was a succession of bombs in the poorest quarter. Thirteen people were 'killed, a majority being crushed by the falling houses.
The Zeppelin returned four hours later and Killed 10 more people, mostly women. .The explosions caused slight earth tremors for miles.
A 'bomb fell on the roof of a theatre and rebounded into the street. The manager reassured the audience, who remained in their seats. Light shining from the glass roof of a factory attracted the airship until it was extinguished. A bomb fell in a street near by. blowing two men, two women, and a child to pieces.
