POVERTY BAY CLUB v. HAWKE’S BAY AND HASTINGS.

A-team ■'representing the Poverty. Bay Club will leave by to-morrow evening’s steamer to play a match against a combined, team from the Hawke’s Bay and Hastings Clubs on Thursday next. The following players will make the trip R. E. Barton, A. C. Cooke, Dr Collins, W. C. Elisor, C. A. Fenwick, H. Kenway, R. G. Hallamore, E. V.* Palmer, S. M. Palmer, J. R. Murphy, (J. Coop, A. W. Rees and H. B. .Williams. Emergencies: K. S. Williams and A’ H. Jackman. Mr A. H, Wallis, the President of jibe Club, and several other members will make the trip with the team. The match will be, played on the Heretanil ga ground at Hastings. THE EAST COAST TEAM: • ‘ TOKOMARU BAY, March 8. The team to represent the East Coast, which will visit Gisborne next week, will probably consist of the following: E. JR. Ludlirook, Rev. Pine Tamahore, K. S. Williams (Taperoa Club), W. Hewson, E. C. Morse (Waipiro Bay), S. Mill, G. Mill, Geo Oates, Joe Oates, W. Oates, jun. (Tokomaru Bay), and G. T. Turner and H. Nelson or Christie (Tolago Bay). The team will leave by next Sunday s boat and plav two or three matches, the final on Thursday and Friday being against the Poverty Bay rep. team.

P.B. ASSOCIATION. MEETING O,' MANAGEMENT committee. The weekly meeting of the Alanagement Committee of the Poverty Bay Cricket Association was held last night. Thera were present: Messrs ‘H. T. Maude (in the chair), A. C. Cooke. F. H. Wilkinson. E. W. Harvey, Smith, Williams and D. F. N. Brewster uion. 'secretary). The Gisborne A. team' was declared the winners, of the Schools Competition, the points being as follows: Gisborne A. 27, Mangmapa 22, High School 22, Te Ha para. IS, Gisborne B. 5, and Haiti 5.

It was decided that- United and Kia Kaha should meet in the final match of the Thursday competition this week. Te Karaka Club applied for a match against the visiting Tokomaru Bay team, Mid it was decided .to endeavor to arrange for the game to be played on the Monday. It was decided to hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. to-morrow at the secretary’s office, McKee’s Buildings, to make arrangements for the visit of the Tokomaru Bav team.
